ONE HUNDRED KILOMETRES FOR KENNY [10*(10K4K)] – Day 9

But today is the new day and I am eager to justify my runner tag, I am planning a more respectable time and distance.

In order to ready about Day 2, it would help matters if you had the background, by reading what took place on Days 0, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7 and 8. Go there and then hurry back.

Day 9

On the day of the Sabbath, I am still wistful about the previous day’s run after which, I might add,  I was unable to move freely and easily because I used so many of my energy reserves to run that perhaps should have been used judiciously throughout the day.

But today is the new day and I am eager to justify my runner tag, I am planning a more respectable time and distance. I do my Naalya Estate route (which you should know by now, if you’ve been following closely). The weather is good, I am much more rested but I am still moving slowly. My first 5km are not inspiring any great pride from their owner. So I stop briefly and watch the Eliud Kipchoge Nike ad – BE THE FASTEST RUNNER EVER-.  I took one deep breath and proceeded to run the fastest 5km I have ever run in my life. This was recognized and rewarded by my Garmin Smart Watch.

I reach home and I am beginning to realize that for reasons that are now unclear to me, I have been setting some artificial limits for myself in reference to speed. I am now actively questioning those conventions and rightly so. 90KM
